A sales forecasting plan is a high-level plan that details the steps required to develop your annual sales forecast. It includes, for example, the scope of the effort; resources and timelines, including dependencies on other plans such as budget and product development; data sources and assumptions; how you will use the forecast (for example, for staffing); how you'll communicate progress against the plan; and how you'll review and revise it.
