Hello! Sales and marketing are interconnected but definitely different. Having worked in sales before jumping onto marketing can be a good thing. You already have half the skills required in marketing as well, like good listening skills, creative mind, high achievement orientation, etc. However, there are still a few things you need to learn. For starters, the difference between the two. Other than that, if you are sure about shifting to marketing, choose your industry to look for marketing roles in that industry particularly. Identify your strengths and use them to get yourself a job. Work on the skills that a marketer must-have, and you don’t. Change your resume (numbers, sales experience & strategy, etc.), and lastly, prepare for your interview. Just stay up-to-date on LinkedIn, and you are good to go. Also, follow a lot of brands on Twitter to learn the marketing strategies closely.
