A PM is the CEO of the product. Several teams work on a single product: R&D, UI/UX designers, Sales and Marketing Team etc. for an example. The PM is responsible for maintaining a chain of communication and collaboration amongst all these teams, and is supposed to guide the product from ideation to the point where consumers are using the optimum product. A technical background does help in becoming a PM, since the ability to tackle both tech and non-tech issues would be present. However, an MBA is a good way for students from all education backgrounds to become a PM. Majority skills needed for a PM are soft-skills, most important being time-management and flexibility, critical and analytical thinking, problem solving and apt communication. Best.
